Computer to Composite TV?
I am currently wanting to hook up my computer to my television through an S-Video input. I hooked it all up and it works, however I was wanting to know if there was any way to have the computer somehow “auto detect” the size of the screen and know what resolution to be set at. If theres any kind of HDTV card or something that I could get to be able to display a clear picture on my television because currently the resolution is either way too big and the whole screen doesn’t fit or its too small and blurry. I’m just curious as to how game consoles work such as the Xbox, which is built more like a pc than anything and how it is that it knows exactly how big the screen is. Also I was wondering if there was any way possible to be able to display the screen on both the monitor and tv. I have an ATI Radeon 1800XT 512 MB VGA and when I choose composite TV it shuts down the monitor and vice versa, is there any drivers that would be able to display it on both?
well unless you have an hdtv your not going to get a very good picture quality, this is because the resolution on your monitor is like twice that of your tv. you can go to this website to get some help with hooking it up http://www.weethet.nl/english/video_connect_pc2tv.php
