Video games and my Comcast cable box (Motorola)?

My house was recently awarded the Comcast cable box installed for the standard cable. I can not get my Gamecube to work now yeah! Anyone know how to solve this problem? I connected the box and my VCR and nothing works! I hit all sorts of buttons and combinations power. is a digital AV jack (not sure What's wrong, but my Gamecube has a jack for it), using the ropes bird yellow cab red and white.
